About Us

In 1989 an advert was spotted by Pascal McDonald in a London paper for a job
at the U3A, an unfamiliar organisation. Research into this self-help organisation for
active retired people led a small group of likeminded people to start meeting at Magee. The initial offering
included golf, swimming and bridge.
In 1992 permanent premises were obtained and together with the addition of
the Active Living Centre in 2012 allowed the growth of the organisation to offer over 100
different activities and courses you will find today!
